Description:
Promethean Theatre Ensemble seeks actors for the roles of Charlotte, Cathy/Bertha & Branwell/Heathcliff/Huntington for Jan/Feb 2016 production of Polly Teale’s Bronte, directed by Jaclynn Jutting.

Charlotte Bronte (early to late-thirties)

Charlotte is a leader with strong opinions and the mother-like figure in a home without a mother. She is determined, strong-willed and believes that she is always right. She’ll play by the rules of the world and figure out how to win regardless. She is also haunted by her physical plainness.

Catherine Earnshaw (Wuthering Heights) / Bertha Mason (Jane Eyre) (late 20s to early 40s)

This doubled role is driven largely by Bertha-the passionate, insane first wife of Rochester from Jane Eyre. She is hypersexual, expressive of jealousy, loathing, and longing. She is tormented. Looking for an actress with dance/physical movement experience for this role.

Branwell Bronte / Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights) / Huntington (The Tenant of Wildfell Hall) (25 – 35) Reckless, attractive, charismatic, passionate Bronte brother. He is a lover of literature, women and booze. Tormented by his failure and inability to live up to familial expectations, he squanders his life. He simply chooses to give up rather than dare to overcome.
