By William Shakespeare

One of Shakespeare’s final plays, The Winter’s Tale has been labeled many things: a romance, a “Problem Play,” or as we like to call it, a Greek Tragedy with a happy ending. But at its core, this play is about things we witness every day as 21st Century Americans: pride, jealousy, penance and forgiveness. The heart of The Winter’s Tale is Leontes’ journey from blind rage to ultimate redemption. To bring that journey to life, director Brian Pastor and his crew will draw on images and ideas from diverse periods of history: ancient Greece, 16th Century Spain and modern-day America.
